Healing Hearts
Grief Program
The Healing Hearts Grief Program helps children
ages 5–18 process the loss of a loved one.
Helping children cope with loss
The Healing Hearts Grief Program, an initiative of Prisma Health Children's Hospital—Midlands' Child Life program, helps children connect with peers and express emotions through therapeutic activities as they navigate the grief process. Participants attend four classes, each focusing on a different topic: emotions, memories, coping skills and changes. Parent/caregiver classes meet concurrently and cover the same topics, enabling continuous grief work at home.
These services are important in helping children and teens navigate the grief process; develop resiliency; foster positive relationships; and ultimately increase their likelihood of becoming self-reliant, healthy adults.
Camp Healing Hearts is supported through the generosity of the Midlands community
The Healing Hearts Grief Program is funded thanks to generous donations from the Bend Don’t Break Foundation and Lipscomb Family Foundation, along with gifts from Midlands community members.
Your gifts help ensure children who have lost loved ones have access to this valuable program.
